The Disc

Landscape
Hyderabad

The design concept emerges from the sloping profile of the architectural building. The continuous, sloping geometry inspired the transformation of the same profile into a distinctive gathering and party space, extending the architectural language into the landscape. The concept evolved through the abstraction of this profile into a floating disc embedded within the landscape, creating a sculptural landform that functions as both landscape architecture and terrain. The disc seamlessly integrates with the natural ground, transforming the landscape into an experiential space for social interaction and celebration. The circle represents unity, continuity, and inward focus. In architecture, its geometry encourages gathering, equality, and fluid movement, naturally directing attention towards the centre. This inspired the use of circular geometry to create a dynamic, immersive, and iconic gathering space. At the heart of the concept lies a central social arena where people naturally converge. Rather than treating the lawn as a flat, residual surface, it becomes the primary spatial generator of the design. The circular landform folds, slices, and lifts from the ground, creating layered spatial experiences through changes in elevation, enclosure, and movement. The resulting space transforms the landscape into an architectural experience, where the floating disc becomes a focal point for gathering, celebration, and interaction.
